Event Details
For kids in grades K - 4
Registration begins August 30 for residents; September 11 for nonresidents.
Members of the Glastonbury Pollinator Pathway will share the children's book Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney. This story is about a woman who sought a way to make the world more beautiful and did so by sowing lupine seeds in the wild. These flowers create food and habitats for pollinators such as bees, butterflies and other insects. Lupine is a good source of nectar for pollinating insects and has been known to attract hummingbirds.
After a relaxing break practicing some "pollinator" yoga poses, each child will plant lupine seeds to take home and replant in their own yard.
