Event Details

Join us for a thought-provoking book discussion in honor of Black History Month, featuring The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead. This Pulitzer Prize-winning novel tells the gripping story of two boys sentenced to a reform school in Jim Crow-era Florida, shedding light on the injustices of the past and their lasting impact. We will explore the themes of resilience, identity, and systemic racism, honoring Black voices and history through meaningful dialogue and reflection. All are welcome to join this inclusive conversation.

Limited copies of the book will be available at the Lending Desk. Registration is not required.

The RCC/Senior Center, Welles Turner Memorial Library, and Glastonbury Historical Society are proud to co-sponsor this special series in honor of Black History Month. Join us for engaging programs that explore the rich history, culture, and contributions of Black Americans.
