Event Details
Due to the space limitations of this program, registration begins by phone (860-652-7720) for Glastonbury residents with a valid library card on August 31st at 9 a.m. and opens online for all on September 8th at 9 a.m. This activity is for adults (18+) only.
Welcome the arrival of fall with a peaceful, creative workshop that invites you to notice the season’s subtle shift into crisp air and changing light. Artist and outdoor educator Leslie Mathews, whose work blends contemplative practice with her background as an Art and Architecture Librarian, will guide gentle explorations of natural objects that reflect the richness of autumn. Through mindful observation, expressive drawing, and reflective writing, Leslie helps participants slow down, reconnect with the natural world, and develop a grounding ritual that can bring calm to everyday life. Her nature-centered approach has been featured in Artemis Journal and in gallery shows throughout New England and Virginia.
No experience necessary. Just bring an open mind and a willingness to breathe, notice, and enjoy the quiet beauty of fall.
