This month's topic is dyslexia.
Dyslexia can feel mysterious, but it doesn’t have to. Join Literacy Consultant and Certified Dyslexia Therapist Candidate, Barb Golub, for an engaging, plain-language exploration of what dyslexia is (and isn’t), how it shows up across ages, and what kinds of supports truly make a difference. We’ll unpack myths, clarify the relationship between dyslexia and intelligence, and explore the continuum of reading development from kindergarten through high school. You’ll leave with practical strategies for helping your dyslexic reader at home: building joyful reading routines, supporting spelling and comprehension, and strengthening executive function, plus guidance on how to partner effectively with your child’s school.
This session invites questions and conversation, blending research, real-world examples, and encouragement so that families and educators can better understand and empower the dyslexic learners in their lives.
