This month we will be reading "How the Penguins Saved Veronica" by Hazel Prior.
Eighty-five-year-old Veronica McCreedy, estranged from her family and searching for a meaningful way to leave her fortune, becomes captivated by a documentary about penguins in Antarctica and insists on visiting the research team. There, she persuades the reluctant scientists to rescue an orphaned penguin, whose presence begins to soften her guarded heart. When her grandson Patrick joins her in Antarctica for a final attempt at connection, Veronica, Patrick, and the team discover the true meaning of family, love, and connection.
